The Blizzard of 2011!!!

This is a picture of our deserted street. The only cars on the road are snow plows.
For the first time since we moved here the weather was as bad as the news made it sound...possibly even worse. We lost power last night for about two hours. Luckily the little ones were already in bed, so we broke out the candles and ate the ice cream out of the freezer that we feared would melt. We have snow drifts over 4 ft! Tom shoveled for 2 1/2 hours just in half of our driveway so he could unearth our vehicles. Here are a few pictures of our area;

Here is Sidney coming home from school just as the storm was starting yesterday at 4:00pm.

Here is that same spot 16 hours later

Tom shoveling;

Tom after he shoveled with ice forming on his eyebrows.

Our neighbors car!

The wind blowing scallops on the roof.

I can't even imagine...yesterday was 81 degrees here. We went for a nice walk in our shorts and flips. Sure you don't want to move back here? :) I need to call you back....sometime soon!
