East Coast Road Trip

Tom and I have been wanting to drive the East Coast for some time. So we took the kids out of school for a week and convinced Grandma Jeanne to join us and we were off! We first headed to Williamsburg Virginia; where I forgot to bring my camera.

We then headed south through North Carolina and the Outer Banks. We rode our first car ferry.(this was the highlight of the trip for the girls). On the ferry we saw dolphins(another highlight for the girls)

Our next destination was Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for 3 days on the beach. The girls collected shells, chased the birds and floated down the lazy river.

We drove through Charleston, South Carolina on our way back home. Hot and humid but worth it. So much history and beautiful homes.

Next was the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. We drove through at the end of what they call leaf season....also known as fall! The pictures don't do it justice.

Our final stop was Kentucky, where we made a quick lunch stop at the Original KFC.
