Obama in Grant Park

Okay, I don't want to turn my blog political, but we decided to go downtown for the Obama Rally. We just wanted to be a part of history and we did vote for him...so we thought why not. We drove to Tom's work which was about 2 miles from the rally. It being such a nice night and us not wanting to deal with public transportation we decided to walk it. Winter is looming up ahead and we wanted to not waste our last flip flop and tshirt night. Security surrounded every street corner for a mile and a half in every direction. We ended up scoring tickets last minute so we braved the ticket crowd.(which was insane...but nothing compared to the non-ticket crowd). We ended up not going all the way in(due to safety issues and you weren't aloud to bring food, drink or blankets into the area) We opted to sit on the curb and listen while we ate, drank and kept our blankets.
The crowd behind us is the ticket line to get in. We spent about an hour here and this line streamed in steadily nearly the entire time.
We had a long walk back and so we started back and were on Michigan Ave. when they announced that Barack Obama had won. The streets erupted in cheers and horns were honking. You couldn't help but get excited. Even the girls got into it despite their vote for McCain. We didn't get our exhausted group home until around midnight...but we were glad we did it.

I think it's so awesome you went! Mike and I were watching on TV wishing we could have been there.

So I linked to your blog through the Osborn's. I have to say that I admire what a brave mom you are.... Stefan and I wanted to go to the rally, but I was a little nervous with Natalia. I look up to you! Oh, i love your blog, but it's really hard to read with the font color on my computer. is it easy to see on your's?
